It was a goal of the Mountain Vista Golden Eagle wrestlers to be competing on Sunday after the preliminary rounds at the Colorado Youth State Tournament. We accomplished that in a few weight classes and 95 lb. 10U Jack Huber took it to the next level and completed his season with an impressive 6th place finish at the State Tournament. Jack is a tenacious 10 year old that constantly works hard and wrestles with passion. After a devastating first round loss, Jack stepped it up and wrestled through the consolation rounds to end up in 6th position. Congratulations Jack!! We are all very proud as you are only the second Golden Eagle wrestler to finish in the top 6 at the Colorado State Championships.
On Sunday February 7, 2010 the Golden Eagle Wrestling Club concluded their regular season competing in the League Championships at Englewood High School. All clubs in the South Suburban Wrestling League competed in the championships. The Golden Eagles had 30 wrestlers compete and we had 11 champions. Congratulations to everyone that competed in the championships, and special recognition to our league champions.
